Although some students were absent we still went to Downtown Middletown. Students looked at various community objects (ie: recycling, mailbox) and saw community helpers (ie: fireman, policeman). Students worked on crossing the streets safely and being more aware of their surroundings - paying attention to where they were walking. Students also ate lunch at BrewBakers and enjoyed ordering and paying for their items.
After lunch we went to Stop and Shop where we shopped for our end of the year groceries.
Beautiful Day for everything!
Today we filled circle pots. Students enjoyed the warmth working in the greenhouse while feeling a nice breeze. Everyone did so good and we ended up filling 2,500!
Students enjoyed some early morning yoga. In the afternoon the greenhouse at Halfingers Farm kept us safe from the hail and rain. We filled 900 containers with planters. All the kids loved it and felt very good about themselves.
We went to the Post Office and mailed some packages. Students helped fill out packages. They also helped count the money to mail the packages. We bought stamps also. Students then went off to Youth and Family Services to clean.
We all went to the arcade today! All kids had a great time and played all sorts of games like ski-ball, car racing, air hockey, fishing games, and others! We had pizza for lunch and it was a good time had by all!
Students ventured to Cheshire CT to Barker Character and Comic Museum. It was filled with collectibles from past and present. There was an art gallery filled with Disney, Looney Tunes, Marvel, Snoopy, etc. Kids loved it! Great outing!
We met up with another 18-21 program at the Bowling Alley in Newington. It was so much fun! We also went out to lunch afterwards. Great times with great friends.
What a day it was! To start the morning some students took a bus to the 9-Town Transit Hub to see where it all happens! They picked up 300 tickets and were able to chat with some of the employees and drivers. When returning we watched High School Musical on a projector and invited some friends from Oak Hill to watch with us. After the movie was over a few students picked up take out from AJ's pizza and brought it back here for lunch. After lunch we had a birthday party of one of our students and lastly students made crafty snowmen! Fun Friday. Happy vacation.
Students did a great job working out! They were tired. Afterwards they went to the library to relax and read books.
Students took a tour of a local television studio and were able to see the cameras, lighting, and control room. Each student got to do a mock weather forecast and an "interview". Great trip!
