Students went shopping at Stop and Shop for class groceries. They then volunteered at Youth and Family Services and went to the Killingworth Library. Busy day!
Students went apple picking and pumpkin picking today. They then went to the Apple Barrel Store and bought lunch and other treats. That sat outside to enjoy the beautiful day but got yellow jacket visitors and had to leave sooner than they wanted!
Students went on a hike at Gillette Castle. It was a beautiful day and the leaves are beginning to change. They also had a picnic lunch.
We met some of our fellow 18-21 friends from the Strive Program. Students enjoyed spinning to some upbeat music while finishing off their visit with some yoga moves.
Students had a wonderful time working at Halfinger Farm. They helped take pumpkins off a truck by working together collaboratively. Students were also able to have fun with by rolling rotten pumpkins and doing pumpkin bowling.
Students helped assemble and fill boxes for the Senior Expo happening in October. They worked on various fine motor skills and sorting. It was a great activity. They also started the day with some yoga, some well needed stretching!
Students enjoyed working at the Saybrook at Haddam today - they cleaned and helped in the kitchen. They then took a nice hike at Haddam Meadows and had a picnic lunch.
Students were happy to get back to cleaning their Youth and Family Service space. They did a great job. They also went to the library and got some new books to read for leisure time after work.
Students went on a hike down at the beach. They enjoyed walking along the marshes and through the breeze. They spotted birds and other animals. Students went into the nature center and saw a variety of animals. They ate a picnic lunch in the gazebo area and had a wonderful time!
