Today students made pancakes and eggs as a group. They then went on a quick hike at Haddam Meadows. Students then ate lunch. After lunch they went to Youth and Family Services to clean and then to the library. Busy, fun day!
Today two students went to work at Saybrook at Haddam and 3 students stayed back to rake leaves in the courtyard. It was a great working day for all!
Today the rain held out! We were not sure about what would happen. We took the ferry across the Connecticut River and viewed the beautiful foliage while looking at Gillette's Castle. After the ferry we went out to a lunch at Moravelas in Chester. Students all enjoyed themselves and were appropriate.
Students went to new volunteer site to help out in whatever way they could. They helped set up tables, walked around the facility, and met the people who come. It was a wonderful experience and they got ideas for the next time we are going!
Students went pumpkin picking and apple picking. Then went to Stop and Shop to buy groceries. Fun fall day.
We went back to the Saybrook at Haddam on Monday. We spread out in the dining room and kitchen and front room. Kids worked very hard on this!
We were supposed to head to a farm today, but the student who works there was absent so we decided to do a hike at the Meadows. It was a cool and dewy walk. The sun came out and it was beautiful. Students ate lunch on rocks. It was wonderful. We then stopped by the store of our student's father. It was a great day.
